It is made of high-quality Mino washi paper. "Ginnezu" is a light gray, slightly transparent letter paper with loose vertical lines framed in a light green. The place where you put the stamp on the envelope is engraved with a stone seal by the picture stamp artist Kakinojin, and reads, "From the moon in the sky, you come, shining day and night." This is a tanka poem by Yosano Akiko, from which the name Gekkoso is derived. It is made sturdy with a double layer.
Gekkoso's washi letter paper is made from Mino washi paper, one of the three major washi papers in Japan, with a history of 1300 years. Washi paper, which values the "bleeding" of paper, is made by mixing natural plant fibers into the paper, making it strong and durable, and giving it an elegant charm that is different from Western paper.
The traditional Japanese handmade paper has been improved by incorporating various modern techniques to create paper that is easy to write on using traditional methods, and like handmade paper, it continues to produce beautiful, strong paper that takes advantage of the luster and texture of natural ingredients. Gekkoso's washi letter paper, made from Mino washi paper, comes in three easy-to-use types: vertical writing, horizontal writing, and manuscript paper-like squares. The sturdy double-layered washi envelopes are carefully hand-pasted one by one, and the place where the stamp is to be affixed has the words "From the moon in the sky, you come, daytime and nighttime," written on a stone seal by the picture stamp artist Kakinojin, in the tanka poem by Yosano Akiko, from which Gekkoso's store name is derived.
